HTC's beefier M9 for China leaks with sharper screen and fingerprint reader
Rumor of a beefier HTC One M9 variant -- aka "M9+" -- had been floating around for some time, but we've remained skeptical until we came across the latest batch of leaks. Better yet, some of these are backed up by an official (poorly made but actually legit) Beijing launch invitation sent out earlier today; see for yourself after the break.

HTC One M9 review: An incredibly capable handset that just isn’t very exciting
HTC seems to have a bizarre phenomenon on its hands. It keeps designing flagship handsets that win design awards and the heart of many a tech reviewer, but fail to actually propel the company to the sort of performance of some of its rivals. Or even its early success with the Desire range at the beginning of the smartphone boom.

HTC appoints Cher Wang as new CEO
HTC's Chairwoman Cher Wang will be replacing current CEO Peter Chou as CEO. Chou will shift to a new role, overseeing future product development.
"As an entrepreneur at heart, I am excited to see so many new opportunities, and I am honoured to accept this opportunity to help shape the next stage of HTC's development," said Cher Wang in a statement.

Peter Chou is out as CEO of HTC, and chairperson Cher Wang is his replacement. Chou will "transition to a strategic new role leading future product innovation" as head of HTC's Future Development Lab.

HTC reports slim profit for third consecutive quarter
HTC is looking beyond smartphones to grow its business as the company reports slim profit margins in its latest quarterly earnings. The Taiwanese firm announced profits of $15.9 million from revenues of $1.5 billion in the quarter ending December 31st 2014, with CEO Peter Chou describing it as a "solid platform" on which to continue building a new range of "mobile lifestyle" products.
